Greek agri-food is entering a new era where technology, data and coordinated promotion act as catalysts for strengthening the international presence of Greek products, as evidenced in two events held in Athens and Thessaloniki under the "Extrovert Agriculture" initiative.

The project was presented as a comprehensive digital transformation initiative aimed at equipping the Greek agri-food sector with the tools needed to become more competitive, more outward-looking and more recognisable in international markets.

Through digital services - including the upgrade of the “Easy Agro Expo” export trade platform, the establishment of export and import business registries, the development of Business Intelligence tools, and the creation of the “Greek Farms” platform - the “Extrovert Agriculture” initiative seeks to connect primary production with exports, entrepreneurship, culture and gastronomy.

The project was implemented with funding from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan “Greece 2.0”, the Public Investment Programme, and with Information Society S.A. - supervised by the Ministry of Digital Governance and Artificial Intelligence - serving as the implementing body.

At the heart of the project is Greek Farms, a multilingual digital platform showcasing Greek products, producers, regions and the stories of the Greek land. As part of the platform, extensive content was created linking the authenticity of each region with the country’s gastronomic and cultural heritage.

The initiative represents a new digital narrative for Greek agri-food, one that goes beyond simply presenting products to highlight the history, quality and identity behind them.

Overall, the content has been adapted into eight languages and now features 200 indoor and outdoor production videos, more than 500 articles on Greek cuisine and Greek agri-food products, as well as over 300 recipes showcasing the products of the Greek land through both traditional dishes and contemporary gastronomic creations.
