Tax hikes for military buildup at the cost of livelihoods--C
Japan will raise taxes to bolster its defense capabilities. Special Defense Corporate Tax will be introduced in April and taxes on heated tobacco products will be hiked in stages - in April and in October, while Special Defense Income Tax is slated for January 2027.
